‘Priests Might Have To Carry Guns Soon’ – Catholic Archbishop Onaiyekan

In the aftermath of the killing of two Reverend Fathers and other parishioners in a Catholic Church in nBeue State some days ago, the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaiyekan has decried the level of security in the country in the face of the sustained killings. Accusing the security operatives of standing by and watching as Nigerians are massacred, the clergy suggested that Priests and other worshipers alike might have to pick up guns and other weapons in a bid to protect themselves. He also condemned the Government’s inability to provide internal security of lives and properties, urging that it should not push its citizens too hard. Source
